Can Two Zhou Dasheng Diamond Rings Be Exchanged for One Larger Ring?
For a Zhou Dasheng diamond ring, the official public page confirms that diamond-inlaid jewelry can have an old-for-new service at the original sales branch, and custom or remodeling service exists. It does not publicly prove that any customer may combine two old rings into one larger ring under one fixed formula.
What is supported by the official page
Chow Tai Seng member service terms says customers may enjoy custom and remodeling service, diamond-inlaid jewelry old-for-new service limited to the original sales branch, and gold or platinum jewelry old-for-new service. It also says the sales receipt or invoice, inspection certificate and customer service booklet are valid documents for after-sales service.
That means your first question should be asked to the original branch in writing: can the two specific diamond rings both be accepted as trade-in credit toward one larger ring, or can only one item be processed under the diamond old-for-new rule?
A quotation should separate four numbers
- New ring price: the price of the larger diamond ring or custom design you want.
- Accepted credit for ring A: how the branch values its diamond, setting and metal, and whether the original documents are required.
- Accepted credit for ring B: the same valuation for the second ring, if the branch agrees to accept it.
- Extra charges: setting fee, redesign fee, certificate or inspection fee, size adjustment, loss/deduction rules and any promotional conditions.
The basic calculation is: amount to pay = new ring price + approved fees - accepted credit for ring A - accepted credit for ring B. For a hypothetical quote of RMB 12,000 for the new ring, RMB 300 in separately charged fees, and accepted credits of RMB 3,000 and RMB 2,500, the balance would be RMB 6,800. These invented figures illustrate the arithmetic only. If fees are already included in the new-ring price, do not add them again; also check any required minimum increase in purchase value. If the branch says only one old diamond ring can be processed, then the second ring may need a separate resale, repair or recycling path.
Before handing over the rings
Photograph each ring, the diamond report numbers and the inner marks. Ask the store to write down whether the original stones will be reused, recycled, or only valued as credit; whether the old settings are returned; and whether the new ring will have a new certificate. Without that written condition, the public source is not enough to promise a two-for-one exchange.
